FiTONIC Blissed Chocolate Coconut Smoothie
I didn't know that I loved coconut. I think it started with Halloween when I was a kid. After ransacking the neighborhood, I organized my candy. Brand, color, size, preference. Rank and re-rank until I knew what to eat first...and last. As a kid the coconut candies never stood a chance against gummy anything or peanut butter anything. And as a kid those Halloween sorting solo parties were my only encounters with coconut.
So as an adult I assumed that I was not a coconut person. I passed on coconut items for years. "Oh does that have coconut? I'm not really a coconut person. I just never took to coconut."
I can't put my finger on the exact moment that I learned I was wrong. You know, about the coconut. But at some point, it was probably around the time that I took weekly cooking lessons to up my meal prep game and make literally everything from scratch. (Yes, it was totally exhausting and I'm still scarred and walk briskly through store aisles when I see yogurt makers.) The thing is, it took me about three tastes and I realized that next to peanut butter, coconut is actually kind of my favorite thing. Go figure.
In the spirit of keeping it simple and as a way to get in my daily coconut compulsion, here is a totally delish Blissed Chocolate Coconut Smoothie! Given that our Blissed blend is also made with mood-boosting Ashwagandha, this is a great way to start a day or quell that afternoon snack attack.
- 6 oz Coconut almond milk (that is not the same thing as coconut milk) (add more if you like your shake less creamy)
- 1 scoop FiTONIC Blissed Protein Powder
- 1 T. Coconut oil
- 1 T. coco powder
- 1/4 avocado (optional for hard-core creamy-texture lovers)
- chocolate shavings (optional for people who love a smoothie party)
Blend all ingredients, except chocolate shavings together, until smooth and creamy. Sprinkle chocolate shavings. Viola!
