This week we are high-fiving FiTONIC’s Athlete Spotlight: Nikki Snyder! Nikki loves a variety of workouts and says that she likes to keep her body “guessing”. She is a Zumba instructor, shares with us her favorite mantras in the gym, and talks about the event that she will be hosting in honor of her father. We love Nikki’s energy and are sending her a big high-five!
What is your fave way to train (running, yoga, CrossFit, weightlifting, dancing…)?
I love to try new workouts all the time. It keeps the body guessing. I teach Strong by Zumba but I also love yoga, running, dance, boot camp.
How did that become your thing?
I’ve always been a dancer since I was little. That was the first thing I started with, fitness wise. Then I started running and yoga was a natural addition to that.
How has training physically changed you mentally or emotionally?
I can tell that when I work out every day I have more energy and more confidence.
What is still hard for you about your training, fitness or nutrition?
The hardest thing for me is nutrition. I know what I need to eat but sometimes I just want to treat myself.
What is the mantra in your head that you hear most often when you train?
“I am fierce.” and/or “All I need is within me.”
What do you love most about your body?
I love my eyes the most. The windows of your soul :)
If you have worked with a coach, what’s the most important lesson you learned from that person?
Take care of yourself FIRST. You can’t help anyone else if you’re not well.
What is your fave nutrition tip? Or if you have tried a FiTONIC product, how do you use it in your day?
I love the FiTONIC Blissed! The Ashwagandha helps keep my stress levels in check and the chocolate is delicious!!
If you could tell only one thing to every woman who is struggling in her fitness journey, what would that be?
Schedule your workouts like you do every other thing in your life. You are important! Make time for yourself.
What goal are you going to crush next??
I just completed the Great Turtle Trail Run on Mackinac Island, which was on my bucket list. My next goal is to host a Strong by Zumba event to benefit the American Heart Association in February. I lost my father to heart disease 11 years ago so this will be in memory of him.
