This week we are high-fiving FiTONIC’s featured athlete: Kehinde Anjorin. Kehinde is empowering wellness “through the power of movement”. She is a personal trainer who LOVES lifting weights and learning what her body and mind are capable of doing. She is a powerful woman with some amazing insights that she shares with us in this interview!
What is your fave way to train (running, yoga, CrossFit, weightlifting, dancing…)?
Weightlifting, just love lifting weights.
How did that become your thing?
Vanity, to start but the power of knowing my strength has sustained it.
How has training physically changed you mentally or emotionally?
It has garnered a pivotal willpower of both mental and emotional strength. Training is the pillar that anchors me, it is the tunnel that allows me to see my strength, formidable will, and power.
"Training is the pillar that anchors me" -Kehinde Anjorin
What is still hard for you about your training, fitness or nutrition?
Nutrition, I need a huge caloric surplus to achieve my weight gain goals.
What is the mantra in your head that you hear most often when you train?
GET THAT SHIT!!!
What do you love most about your body?
How small yet powerful it can be.
If you have worked with a coach, what’s the most important lesson you learned from that person?
Understand your ‘WHY’, knowing your why leads to purpose, commitment, and consistency.
What is your fave nutrition tip?
Your body doesn’t care what nutritional camp you pledge allegiance to if you aren’t feeding it whole nutritious foods. Worry about nutritional value not calories.
If you could tell only one thing to every woman who is struggling in her fitness journey, what would that be?
You are meant to struggle, embrace it love it and own it. It is in the struggle that relieves our strength, tenacity, and compassion for self.
What goal are you going to crush next??
